AHI PROFILE

The American Hospitality Institute, Incorporated (AHI) was established in 1991 as a United States professional organization dedicated to the national and international hospitality development and  global communications.  AHI   is currently   branching out to various centers in the United States and abroad, and is in the process of creating headquarters in Vienna, Berlin, Dublin and Eastern Europe in collaboration with ABBA international social services and educational committee of WACJ Fund  originated by Dr. Esther Cohen-Hamilton, Dr. Erica Soderholm and Dr. Giselle Muller-Anderson in Berlin, Dr. Gisele von Guntunbergersen in Vienna and Mrs. Solange Berthier in Paris. The institute's major activities are centralized in Europe via its bureaus in Rome and Verona in Italy and the Middle East in Cairo and Alexandria, in Egypt.

The AHI concept was originally created in 1989 by Dr. John Chen, a noted scholar while he was serving at the White House as a Member of the White House Convention-Committee on Library Science and Information Service under the administration of President Carter. It was a concept back then. In 1991, the spirit of AHI came to life. Dr. Chen served as president from 1991 to 1993. In 1994, AHI knew an international expansion thanks to the splendid leadership of AHI new Chairman, his Excellency Senator Jean-Robert Sabalat, former secretary of state (Foreign Minister) of Haiti. Dr. Sabalat served from 1993 to 1999. Thanks to honorable efforts of several dedicated hospitality leaders, scholars and researchers in various  countries, Dr. Chen's remarkable concept materialized. In 2000, under the leadership of  Max de Lafayette, former President of AHI and current Editor-in-chief of its magazines,  AHI reached a higher level of excellence in operations, management, hospitality development, learning and training. Mr. De Lafayette served as president and general manager from 2000 to 2004. Today, under the leadership of its current chairman, Dr. Kurt Rosenstadt, AHI has become a major international voice of world hospitality.

American Hospitality Institute Incorporated publishes 2 international magazines: 1- World Hospitality Magazine in English and Cinq Etoiles Magazine in French. In addition to its monthly magazines, the Institute provides numerous services to its members, publishes and distributes  books, conducts and gathers research, statistics and training programs in hospitality management and operational strategies.
